The last game of 2025 was a T20 v West Epping   On another hot day we lost the toss and were asked to bat first.   With quick runs the order of the day it was an excellent all round batting display by Taronga. In our 20 overs we scored 7/147 – with Romo, opening the batting (27), Jess (29), Shero (13), Big Show (21 – including a huge six over fine leg) and Jacko 19no. West Pymble would have to bat well to win and they made a decent start with 0/51 off 8 – with one opener pull

Saturday saw us up against Hornsby in a 2 nd  v 3 rd  clash.   We were short of a few key players but managed to get 11 – drawing on young and old reserves.   Bharani made a comeback, young Angad played his first game for the club and long time Iggie, Maca was brought out of retirement to help his old mates.   Hornsby batted first and our opening bowling pair (Raj & Big Show) bowled tightly.  But the outfield was quick, and with some luck Hornsby progressed without losing too

A hot day on Saturday at Primrose saw us take on bottom of the table Northbridge.   We lost the toss and feared the worse that we’d be fielding in the heat, but surprisingly we were asked to bat ! This week saw Taronga take on the high flying West Pymble, who were on the back of scoring 400 the previous week.   It was always going to be a tough assignment, especially with a few notables missing and a few making their season debut. Hottest day of the season so far and not the best day to be short of players in the game against Hornsby at Pidding Park on Saturday.   Plan A was to win the toss and bowl first to avoid fielding later in the day with 9 nine players with Shero having to leave early (date night and an automatic fine).  We lost the toss and were asked to bat. Back to winning ways at the weekend in front of our biggest crowd of the season, with the Ravel supporters club – led by the ageless Frank - making the long journey from Rylstone to cheer the boys on.   Batting first, we lost Big Show early.  But then Sharpy dug in sharing stands of 48 with AB (19), 40 with Yogesh (27, batting beautifully before he charged “Steve” and was stumped) and 44 with Ravel (23) – almost every run we scored cheered on by the crowd. Two very different sides took the field on Saturday – Taronga v West Pymble Floppys at Artarmon. One was a team of old(ish) blokes with a sprinkling of young guys, the other a team of fit, strong, agile mid-twenty year olds.  The superior fitness and agility of these young guns (guns being the appropriate word here) was to prove the difference between the sides.   We batted first and despite losing Big Show early got off to a decent start progressing to 68-1 (after 12 overs)

Our second game of the season and a struggle for players saw us turn out with only 8 – injuries, illness and horses depleting all the teams.   Fortunately, I won the toss and naturally batted ! “Let’s be sensible, nothing silly, see if we can bat the overs and give them something to chase”. “Nothing silly ……”   However, as last week Big Show was run out early and this time he only had himself to blame …. Hitting one straight to midwicket and calling Sharpy for a quick single.

An excellent start to the season for Taronga with a win against West Epping – stars of the show, the Wanzare ‘brothers’ and Sharpy.   West Epping won the toss and batted on a lovely afternoon at George Kendall.   Jess (1-17), opened the bowling (nice to have a someone genuinely quick in the team), and got us off to a good start removing one of the openers early with a fast yorker.  West Epping moved to 82 and were in a good position before the strangle came from AB (1-25) and
