Not much to report from Saturday’s game against Gypsies. It was surprise to be playing given the overnight and forecast rain but we somehow got on.
Gypsies batted first, and despite managing to contain them with 9 fielders for the first half of their innings, after drinks they got away. Dropped catches didn’t help and Gypsies ended up 230-6 off 35 overs, only Shero returning decent figures with 2-31. A couple of bowlers light was a fair call.
The less said about our innings the better, all out for 106, Big Show top scoring with 25.
So very few positives to take out of the game except for the fact that the Fines Committee had another bumper week. With late shows, no shows and Big Show forgetting the kit plus 6 dropped catches, the coffers of the Fines Committee are starting to look very healthy. At least we’re looking at a decent night out at the end of the season.
