About Us

Old Ignatians Cricket Club are recruiting new players for the 2025-26 season!
Based on Sydney’s lower North Shore we field teams in the Northern Suburbs Cricket Association (NSCA) and the Sydney Masters Cricket Association (SMCA) competitions.
The NSCA are open age competitions playing every Saturday on astro-turf pitches, generally on the lower North Shore.
The SMCA have Masters (over 40s) and Classics (over 50s) competitions, playing every Sunday fortnight (11 games a year) on turf on some of the best grounds in Sydney - Rawson Park, Mosman Oval, & Ryde Oval, just to name a few.
The season runs from late September to early April.
Why play with Old Ignatians?
-
We are a club who welcomes players of all ages, abilities and backgrounds (although our roots are Old Boys of St Ignatius College well over 50% of our players are from outside the school). Our only requirement is a love of cricket!
-
Only play as often as you want to – we do not require commitment for every (or even most) games in a season.
-
Play with your mates – we do not formally grade our teams, so if you have a group of mates of differing abilities we can guarantee you will play in the same team.
-
No training – only if you are keen enough; otherwise just turn up on the weekend and play
-
Social scene at our major sponsor, the Diddy – as well as drinks after every match we also have a number of social events such as beer & pizza nights, Christmas drinks and an end of season Awards night with a former first class cricketer as a guest speaker
-
Tours – we are exploring the possibility of a tour to Ireland in 2026 as well as pre-season and end of season games in NSW / ACT.
