Masters Round 1 v Warringah Match Report

We rolled out a strong Rd 1 side at Ryde v the historically strong Warringah.

For a change I lost the toss, and we were instructed to Bowl.

AB (coming off a heart scare last year) and Cmac opened the bowling. Cmac was unlucky not to have a wicket in his first over with a catch behind the wicket going down. We bowled tight for the first 20 overs and had them restricted to 70 odd. Special shout out to AB who bowled 8 straight and went for only 24 runs.

The second 20 they batted well and finished their 40 0vers 5/219.

Our batting started well with Erick charging out of the blocks only to fall for 13. We rallied well through the middle with Cmac making 35 with his beautiful shoulder less bat / Dorny a classy 38 / Mason 37 and the evergreen Frawls 37. Bass battling chronic knee / Gout and STI issues bludgeoned 26 under duress. Unfortunately, none of us got to the bank and we ended up falling a painful 9 runs short in a cracking game.

Field and Pitch were great, and we will be ready to go again in a few weeks’ time v castle hill RSL at Ryde.
