After a slow start to the season the Masters team were up for the challenge of taking on last years premiers Roseville at Ryde.

Mason and Toal overheard the umpire chatting to the Roseville captain about what an easy win they should have today!!, Toal old and very competitive was not impressed.

Roseville won the toss and elected to bat on the Ryde deck that had been undercovers all night, another toss lost by the skipper but none the less we were happy with the outcome!

Our 2 premier opening bowlers were up for the challenge. Cmac was up against his old team and ready to go and collected their captain for a duck (great catch by J Benson in the slips) to get us off to a cracking start.

AB currently tipping the scales at 143KG kicked of his 8 over spell with an unusual loose first over (Lucky not to be hooked) the skipper showed faith, from there it was his usual unrelenting spell with the ball doing plenty.

It was a good battle for a while with great cricket being played with both bat and ball, CMAC and AB in a good battle against Marsh who has come straight from Parramatta first grade.

Wickets kept falling and for the first time this season we kept taking our catches (7 going to hand) Dorney came on and as usual picked up a handy 4, Toal chimed in for a nifty 2 and CMAC was reintroduced to the attack to clean up 2 quick ones to finish them off.

The fancied Roseville all out for 105 only lasting 23 overs, great performance.

The chase was put beyond doubt early after a great opening partnership from Erick and Benson. Erick feasted (not unlike AB at arvo tea) on the Roseville attack and slayed them everywhere for an unbeaten 40 of approx. 20 balls. Benson got through a quick spell by the openers before departing for a well-made 13.

Mason and Mayes did the rest with 20 and 25 no respectively for an easy win and bonus point to get the season back on track.
