OICC 10/76 (Goradia 23*) defeated by CCNSW 10/201 (Goradia 3/37; Butler 2/28; Zell 2/31; Toal 1/32; McLeod 1/48).

A GAME TO FORGET

We began well with a constant flow of wickets to have CCNSW 5/51 by the 12th over with excellent opening spells from Zelly (2/31) & Buttsey (2/28), and excellent catching with a sharp one off Zell to Garlo at 2nd, and excellent outfield catching from Rav Hybrid Goradia (2), and Toalie, and Steve Sloppy Geyer effected an excellent run out.

They progressed to 5/116 by the 25th and we were looking OK.

Some dubious/ordinary umpiring with 3 LBWs not given to Buttsey, Zell & Neil against a batsman who went on to make 50. 6 down in the first 15 overs might have made a difference. Brett James and Melville (both Australian Over 50s) both got 40s, with another outfield catch to Frawls.

An excellent spell of bowling form MOM Goradia (3/37) restricted them to 201.

Toalie bowled an excellent 8 over spell to finish with 1/32, and McLeod 1/48, with Frawls letting the pressure off with 0/20 from 2.

The wicket was terribly variable, and you must bat first at Camperdown, but 202 was certainly achievable.

Unfortunately this was not to be, with 4 LBWs, 3 of which were certainly not out – Frawls was fuming after hitting his, Garlo was batting at least 3 feet outside his crease, and Zelly was hit batting outside leg.

Our first 12 overs were steady at 2/28, to be all out in the 23rd over for 76, the only real highlight being Rav Hybrid Goradia’s 23* with 2 sixes.
